Description
Boudin specialised in painting the coastal regions of northern France. In the 1860s, he painted many views of the Channel resorts, featuring the visitors who brought prosperity to the district where he had been brought up. He went to Trouville in 1861 and returned every year throughout his career. The Trouville jetty was a favourite subject of his in the 1860s.
